Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 5/2, 5/3, 5/4 – Bartlett Elementary’s Playground Build – Bartlett Elementary School, 7:00 AM – Dark.  Volunteer to help construct an incredible playground at the school.  No tools or experience necessary.  Must be 16+.  Inquire at Bartlett Elementary School, 689 Mast Rd., Goffstown.

Fridays, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/25 - Lap-Sit Storytime - Manchester City Library – Winchell Room, 9:30 AM.  For ages 0-23 months.  Each session will include books, music, songs, and flannel board stories.  Registration is required for lap-sit storytimes, in person or by phone.  For more information, please call the Children’s Room, 624-6550 ext. 328.

Fridays, 5/2 – Toddler Time – The Children’s Metamorphosis, 10:00-11:00 AM.  A free program for kids 4 and under and a parent.  Focused on music and movement, it includes a story, music and a craft. Led by an intern from UMass Lowell.

Fridays, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23, 5/30 - Grandparents Day – The Children’s Metamorphosis, 1:00-8:00 PM. Free admission for all grandparents after 1 PM.

Fridays, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23 - Movies at West - West Manchester Community Library, 3:00 PM.  Spend an afternoon watching the latest release DVDs.  For more information, please call 624-6560.

Saturday, 5/3 – Spacetacular Saturday – The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM.  Join us for our celebration of Astronomy day.  There will be fun and games for the whole family, helicopter rides, rocket launches, solar telescopes and so much more.  the Planetarium will also premiere a new theater show:  Family of the Sun.  Don’t miss it!

Monday, 5/5 - Mexican Fiesta! - Manchester City Library – Winchell Room, 10:00 AM.  Let’s celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a fiesta.  Listen to stories, do a hat dance, and make your own maracas to take home.  For ages 1 to 5 years old.  Registration is required.  For more information, please call the Children’s Room, 624-6550 ext. 328.

Tuesday, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27 – Preschool Workshop - The Children’s Metamorphosis, 10:00-11:00 AM.  Preschool Workshops are a drop-off program for 3 to 4 year olds.  These programs are designed for children who are in or will be entering a preschool program.  Workshops include stores, crafts and interactive activities.  Pre-registration and prepayment are required.  Cost is $12 per student for non-Met members, $10 per student for Met members. 

5/6 — Down on the Farm  We will discover what animals are found on a farm. 

5/13 — Ahoy May-T  Be a pirate for the day in May! 

5/20 — Pretzels!   When is a pretzel knot a pretzel? Come and find out! 

5/27 — Be a King or Queen for the day!   We will be doing activities befitting royalty!

Wednesdays, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28 – Story Hour – The Children’s Metamorphosis, 1:00-2:00 PM.  Miss Gail leads the children in reading a preschool book and doing a related take-home craft. Best for ages 3 to 5. No extra cost, and no need to sign up in advance.

Thursday, 5/8 - Preschool Arts & Crafts – Mother’s Day Surprise – Nashua Library, 1:00 PM.  For ages 4 to 6.  Registration is required.  Stories and puppet shows round out the program.  Held for six weeks, parents may sign up their children for up to three.  For more information, call 589-4600.

Thursdays, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29 – Art in the Afternoon; Pretty Cool Printing – The Children’s Metamorphosis, 3:30-4:30 PM.  The art of printing or stamping dates back to ancient times.  The students will work with various mediums and tools such as gadget printing, sponges and linoleum blocks to create their own works of art.  This is a new program offered by The Met and taught by Miss Gail for children ages 5 to 8.  This is not a typical craft workshop, but a program that will be done in units of four classes per unit.  The first class will introduce the medium and some examples of the art and artists.  The next three classes will involve projects that use the materials and the final class will have an art show to present the various pieces of art created by the students.  The fee is $60 per child per unit for members and $70 for non-members.  These programs require advanced registration.

Thursday, 5/8 – Mother’s Day Gifts – For Kids Who Cook, 4:00 – 5:30 PM.  Each child will leave with three wrapped presents.  Cost is $20 per child.  Call (603) 591-5918 for more information.

Friday, 5/9 – Teen Night:  Mystery Science Theater – The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium, 7:00 – 8:30 PM.  Professional magician Ryan Mahoney will amaze you with some great magic that will have you wondering - are you witnessing science or sleight of hand? Is the gravity being defied or simply strings and wire? You will leave with props and the ability to perform a professional magic trick yourself! You will also learn about the mystery and magic of the night sky in our planetarium theater. Pizza and soda provided at no extra charge. For Teens Only : ages 13 – 19. Please have teen picked-up by 8:45 PM if they don’t drive.

Saturday, 5/10 – Kids Night Out – For Kids Who Cook, 5:30 – 8:30 PM.  Cost is $30 per child or $50 for 2 siblings, registration is required.  Call (603) 591-5918 for more information.
